Jesuit High School Marauders Baseball

Welcome to the Official Website for Jesuit Baseball.

The baseball program at Jesuit High School exists to provide the prospective student-athlete with a well-rounded high school experience. Athletics are an integral part of the overall educational philosophy at Jesuit High School. The diamond is no different from the classroom, the laboratory, or lecture hall. Baseball at the high school level is a learning experience- a chance to mature through self-discipline, competition, sportsmanship, achievement and failure. Success and failure are not necessarily quantified in terms of wins, league titles, or section championships. The valid measure of success is the realization of one's full potential by using his God-given abilities to their fullest. The truly enriching Jesuit baseball experience is one that will carry over into all other dimensions of development; academic, social, and spiritual.

A Swing for a Cure-March 7th, 2009

The Jesuit Marauders defeated the Christian Brothers Falcons 3-0 in the 1st Annual Swing fora Cure Breast Cancer Awareness game.  Prior to the start of the contest, Jennifer Bosco (mother of senior outfielder Jimmy), Sonia Susac (aunt of C Andrew Susac & pitcher Matt Susac) & Amy Schaffer (Son Brian-baseball alum from 1999) threw out ceremonial first pitches.  All are courageous women that are breast cancer survivors.  There was also a moment of silence observed for those that have lost their fight to breast cancer.  Senior pitcher, Brock Simon, was the star of the night going 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball, allowing just 1 bloop single.  Martin Agosta came in in the sixth to earn the save.  Jesuit scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning, highlighted by a 2 RBI double from Jimmy Bosco and an RBI double by Danny Hayes.  There was a large crowd on hand for this festive evening, and $2000 was donated to the Albie Carson Breast Cancer Foundation.  See everyone in 2010 for the 2nd annual Swing for a Cure game.

A Swing for A Cure- March 7, 2009 @ Sacramento City College 5 PM

Jesuit in conjunction with CB is playing a "Swing for a Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness baseball game next Saturday, March 7th at 5PM at Sacramento City College.  This is an opportunity showcase one of Sacramento's greatest rivalries, while raising awareness and money for the fight against breast cancer.

Players and coaches from both teams will wear pink wristbands, the bases will be pink (rather than white), members of the JHS and CB communities that are breast cancer survivors will throw out ceremonial 1st pitches & we'll observe a moment of silence for those that have lost their fight to cancer.  Admission is $5 for adults,  $3 for students & survivors wearing pink are free, with proceeds from the gate and t-shirt sales going to the Albie Carson Breast Cancer Foundation.  Albieaware.org will also be on hand to pass out informational brochures.  Attached is a flyer for the event, which includes the t-shirt logo (created by Nathan Zielke, Class of 2112).  So if you are a baseball fan, have been associated with someone that has/had breast cancer, or just want to support a great cause, please help spread the word and come out to Sac City next Saturday.
