Welcome to my web page at Jesuit High School!
My career in Catholic Education began in the Fall of 1974 as a teacher of Theology at Bishop O'Dowd High School in the Bay Area. I came to Jesuit High School in late August of 1983. Three years later, with the support of then principal, Dick McCurdy, S. J., I left the classroom and began offering much needed counseling services to students. At that time Jesuit High School had no formal counseling program outside Home Room advisement and some college guidance for seniors. It has been a blessing and a privilege to participate in the evolution of the Counseling Department from its inception as a limited, one counselor operation to a comprehensive program of academic, college and personal counseling services.
Personal Background: I have been married to my wife, Kathleen since 1975. We have four children, two of whom are graduates of Jesuit High School, classes of '95 and '03 . In addition to my service at Jesuit high School, I have been a licensed Marriage and Family psychotherapist since 1988. My private practice operates out of Saint Joseph's Parish in Elk Grove where I work with married couples, adolescents, adults, and engaged couples. I also serve as choir director and serve on the Parish Council and Liturgy Committee. Finally, I am an Adjunct Professor of Ethics at the University of San Francisco.
